The Baa Horn sign was made by holding up the index finger as if doing the #1 sign and putting the back of the hand on the top of the head with the finger pointing back at about a 45 degree angle.
Some 1953 Buicks came with a "straight 8" engine in them , that had a distinctive growling sound from the exhaust, that made it sound mad. it also had a grill that looked like a frowning mouth, showing its teeth. One day, as we where walking past Dick Shade's house, we decided that his Buick represented a angry , grouchy person. The radio antenna (arial) on this car is located in the middle if the front of the car, right above the windshield, pointing back at a 45 deg angle. So when someone was grouchy, you would give them the arial, as Gordon described. Or if they where more grouchy, you would give them 2, at the corners of the forehead and say"BAAA!" And if they where really grouchy, you would alternate between the "arial" and the "horns" and say "BUZZ, BAA" ! (Hence the Buick Baa Horn) And of corse, this made them even madder.
Kendell, that is the first time I ever heard the real story behind Buick Baa Horn. I just knew that it had something to do with the antennae of the Buick. I also remember that it was used when someone was being upset. By the way, Who was Dick Shade?
I agree that the boys in the family have all needed professional help for quite some time, but I guess you have probably known that for years, haven't you, Kent? (The girls in the family, on the other hand, all seem to be fairly normal, wouldn't you say?)
I would say that the girls ARE normal. We didn't have Buick Baa Horns, girdles under their sister's car hood. I'll bet you can't come up with any abnormal things that we did!

It was inspired by the arial on a 1953 Buick

You guys described this better than I ever could.

I'm with Gordon, who is Dick Shade? I've been sitting here laughing about all of this nonsense.
I think you all need professional help!! Brenda said to put my name so she doesn't get in trouble. Love you all. Kent
Dick Schade lived for a short time where Larry Higley lived, across the street from the church.
