Bonus Question

For 25 points, who is this a picture of? I will give you a hint, it is one of Ronald & Lorraine Strong's children.

Quote for the Week

"We place [Jesus Christ] on a pedestal as no other group I know of. To us he is not only the Son of God, he is also a God and we are subject to him. . . . No matter how much we say of him, it is still too little. He is not only the Carpenter, the Nazarene, the Galilean, but Jesus Christ, the God of this earth, the Son of God, but most importantly, our Savior and Redeemer . . . . I add my own testimony, I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that he was crucified for the sins of the world. He is my friend, my Savior, my Lord, my God." ---President Spencer W. Kimball

Hymn for the Week

WHERE CAN I TURN FOR PEACE

Where can I turn for peace? Where is my solace
When other sources cease to make me whole?
When with a wounded heart, anger, or malice,
I draw myself apart, Searching my soul?

Where, when my aching grows, Where, when I languish,
Where, in my need to know, where can I run?
Where is the quiet hand to calm my anguish?
Who, who can understand? He, only One.

He answers privately, Reaches my reaching
In my Gethsemane, Savior and Friend.
Gentle the peace he finds for my beseeching.
Constant he is and kind, Love without end.

Here is another picture of the door.

Stephanie and Dave and their 2 kids have been staying with us for a few days. While they were here, Dave fixed our cellar door. It wouldn't stay closed and when Dad tried to hammer it with Mom helping him, the door came right off of the hinges. I took some pictures of the finished product and thought I might share them with you.

Quote for the Week

"The question is sometimes asked, 'Are Mormons Christians?' We declare the divinity of Jesus Christ. We look to Him as the only source of our salvation. We strive to live His teachings, and we look forward to the time that He shall come again on this earth to rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In the words of a Book of Mormon prophet, we say to men today, 'There [is] no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent' (Mosiah 3:17)." ---President Ezra Taft Benson

Hymn for the Week

Most people just sing the hymns, they never really ponder and think about the words. I am going to start a "Hymn for the Week" so we can ponder the words to different hymns. This week's hymn is my all-time favorite hymn. The words to it describe my testimony.
I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES (Hymns, page 136)
I know that my Redeemer lives, what comfort this sweet sentence gives.
He lives, He lives who once was dead, He lives my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with His love, He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed, He lives to bless in time of need.

He lives to grant me rich supply, He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint, He lives to hear my soul's complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears, He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart, He lives all blessings to impart.

He lives my kind, wise, heavenly Friend, He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives and while He lives I'll sing, He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath, He lives and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare, He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives all glory to His name, He lives my Savior still the same.
Oh sweet, the joy this sentence gives, I know that my Redeemer lives.
He lives all glory to His name, He lives my Savior still the same.
Oh sweet, the joy this sentence gives, I know that my Redeemer lives.

Quote for the Week

"I am grateful . . . for my affiliation with a people who have a firm conviction that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ; and I bear witness to you that the story of the babe born in a manger at Bethlehem is not a myth of the past, but that Jesus, the Son of God was born of Mary into mortality; that he lived among men; that he died upon the cross and was resurrected; that he actually and truly lives today; and that he is a personal being and is the Savior of the world."
---President Howard W. Hunter

Quote for the Week

"I know that I am not the head of this Church. The Lord Jesus Christ is its head. My mission, my chief responsibility, my greatest honor comes in bearing solemn testimony of His living reality. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who condescended to come into this world of misery, struggle, and pain, to touch men's hearts for good, to teach the way of eternal life, and to give Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. He is 'King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He shall reign forever and ever' (Handel's Messiah) . . . I bear solemn witness that He lives and stands on the right hand of His Father." ---President Gordon B. Hinckley
