I'm pretty sure that Dad told us that there was a "Vacugna" behind that locked door ..... either that, or next years Christmas presents

I think the Three Nephites lived back there...I never got a look.

When I asked the question, I was serious. I was always certain that there must be gold, a dead man's chest, or some other treasure behind that door. The old lock looked like it had been there hundreds of years. We were never allowed to even think about entering the inner sanctum. To a young boy, I always wondered what was in there, but I knew that it couldn't be good for one of such tender years. I'm sure that had I known what was there, I would have been disappointed.

The true story on the locked room in the grainery is this: Hen Beck and Eph Nash and some of the other gentlemen in town that liked to have a snort once in a while operated a still during Prohibition. The city found it and confiscated it. They stored it in Grndpa Whitby's grainery. Grandpa lost the key to the lock and it just remained there forever.

Mom says that she doesn't remember a lock on the door when she was growing up.

Deanna,
I'm glad you haven't heard that story before, cause I just made it up.
