All of my children, and most of my younger siblings have been sung to sleep with that song. I used to sing a trilogy of song which seemed to work. I would begin with "Rock-A-Bye Baby On the Treetop" followed by "Rock-A-Bye, Don't You Cry", and ending up with "Go To Sleep My Baby". It almost always worked with either the baby or myself being put to sleep.

The Lady Moon is watching,
Throughout the darkening skies.
(I think I know the rest, but does anyone else care to finish?)
The little stars are peeping,
To see if you are sleeping
go to sleep my baby
go to sleep, good night.

All of my children have been serenaded to sleep with that song. It sounds like it is a family tradition.
I always found that "Black Dog" worked better.
I remember that song too! But, I'm not sure my kids enjoy my lullabying!
