Down thru the leaves of the old oak tree. Please let the light that shines on me, shine on the wone I love.
Over the mountains, over the sea, back where my heart is longing to be. Please let the light that shines on me, shine on the one I love.

That song has been well used at my house. On one trip down to Arizona to see Marianne when Kevin was little, the only way I could keep him happy was to sing to him. That was one of the songs I sang over and over again. The rest of the family got tired of it.

I absolutely love this song!

Dale used to sing that to Amanda when she was a baby all the time. It was the first song she learned and could sing it word for word when she was 18 months old. It was so adorable! We'd better start singing to Landon to keep up our family tradition :)

Dad would play that song on the piano, especially when he had something on his mind or some important event was coming up. As Bishop, he played it a lot.
