I used to get mad when we would ask Dad for a story. He would say, "I'll tell you a story about Jack Anory and now my story's begun. I'll tell you another about Jack and his brother and now my story is done". Only the way I remembered it was 'Jack Amanory'.
We heard those two stories more than any two stories ever told. We used to call it Jack Abanory
I thought it was Jack Banory.
I remember getting that story from my dad too...

Actually, I think I remember it being Jack a' Manurey (as in cow manure) as well.
Yes, that story was told in our house as well...and I've told it in my house too!
I hated that story and now my kids hate it too.
