I remember the "Big" metal slide by City Hall. before and after Primary, we would sit on the "wax-paper" sandwich wrappers that we had saved from our lunchs, and slide down the slide. The wax would make it so slickery that we would go so fast, that we couldn't land on our feet.
You guys remember it the same way I do. I remember waxing the slide with waxpaper and waxed cups and what ever else we could get our hands on and making that slide slick. We did go so fast we couldn't land on our feet.

It also worked with wax-coated cups. We'd slide while Dad would throw horseshoes.
