Swoon .... or Fleas?
As I recall the story... It was 5th grade, at Harrington school in American Fork. They where teaching us square dancing. Well you know how girls have fleas... Well the BEST way to protect one's self from fleas might be to hold one's breath when in close proximity to an infected girl. Well a do-see-do and an allemande-left, gives a man enough time to grab a breath of "safe" air or two.... But then it came to the time when two couples had to stand by one another while the other two couples did some kind of a "twirly" thing .... Well I guess that the oxygen must have run out ... cuz the next thing I remember was opening my eyes and seeing everyone looking down at me. I'm not sure if I caught fleas or not.... But I didn't have to square-dance for the rest of the day.
That has to be a classic! Alma Heaton had several boys try to get out of square dancing, but Kendell Strong was the King!!!
