I remember the bottle rockets too. A fun part of our summer vacations. I wonder if there is still enough room to do them? If not, my kids still love the tire swings...
Shooting the bottle rockets was a lot of fun, and thank you Carrie and Amy and the rest of my nieces and nephews for fetching them. I remember spending evenings with Wayne and Gordon improving the aeronautical designs of the rockets. I wish I had more room around my house to shoot them off.
Does anyone else remember collecting tons of grasshoppers and putting them into the bottle rockets? And then finding little grasshopper body parts ALL OVER the place? Awesome.
I found that if you put a little angle on the fins, added a little weight to the nose, and emptied all the water in the hose, they would fly straight, high, and would land nose down!

I remember racing cousins to fetch them out in the fields. How fun is it to get little kids to fetch things for you?

I think I remember one landing on the hood of Brenda and Kent's Blazer one time :)
